Responsible Gambling Week runs this year from 1st – 7th November and is a campaign led by the gambling industry that aims to create a conversation with customers, staff and the wider public about gambling responsibly, driving awareness of. In 2018, the Responsible Gambling Week had some impressive results. There were more than 12,000 gambling facilities present, along with 120,000 employees from across the UK. At the end of the week, some 20,000,000 impression were created over social media and the IGRG wants to build on these results, to effectively clean up the gambling industry.
Responsible gambling has become a renewed focus for the industry and by coming together, the businesses aim to inform customers about the risks as well as the tools available to keep gambling safe and fun.Sir Christopher Kelly, Chair of the Responsible Gambling Strategy Board, said: 'Public engagement is one of the 12 priority actions identified in the National Responsible Gambling Strategy. We need to learn from the experience of consumers and their families, and to use this to make gambling safer.
'So I welcome the theme of IGRG's Responsible Gambling Week ‘Let's talk about responsible gambling'.
'Let's make sure we learn as much as we can from it,' said Kelly.
